Has Humanity Left Us??????

Yesterday I was just watching television (that is a very rare happening) and specifically the news channels that litter our airwaves. It was saddening to see, that the media is beating about the whole issue of Shoaib and sania and ayesha being blown out of proportion and being turned into a giant circus while simply sidelining the whole issue of loss of lives to a simple bulletin across the bulletin board. Has humanity died within our hearts and have we lost all empathetic ties to our fellow being in a different part of the country, and all of a sudden a juicy soap opera being played out in real life, is more important than the issues of violence in the country, Someone needs to teach the News channels a thing or two about media ethics.

But still the question remains have we become numb to all the violence? Does us not noticing it or even feeling a slight tinge of the loss of a fellow human's life? Will our ignoring it make the problem go away no it does not all it does is rob us of our humanity.

And what Ive written above is universal, I guess everyone can relate to that.

So what do u think of it all? Let me know

and remember

"It is our ability to have empathy for the loss of our fellow human that gives us our humanity
and without humanity we are no humans just animals with a high IQ" (Sayings of the DarkMystic)

  1. Its human nature( referring humans to those who call themselves humans or maybe i should say who-man because i think they have lost their identity). They need spice, to say the least. Not long ago when pakistani media was not strong enough (starting of geo and other news channel) people needed spice too but at that time the recipe was different. People would turn on the tv to see if something 'bad' happened, how many people lost their lives in some tragic events or maybe whats new in sports ? but today everything like losing lives, war, accidents have become something that isnt juicy enough which has become a need of todays who-man. The Juice of shoaib maliks event entertained everybody ... i guess its just the entertainment now and not the news !!

  2. way back then the way the news of tragedy was portrayed was wrong and at times unethical (being polite), but what are media ethics is food for thought for another post.

  3. exactly, I mean its too much, Shoaib and Sania have become important than other news even more important than eighteenth amendment, I don't know why they are trying to project an image as some royal marriage is going to take place, even they are displaying name of that lucky Qazi in breaking news.
